erosion/houses lost/memories of North of Southwold

a desolate beach

between Southwold and Covehithe the beach is very wild, several driftwood trees litter the beach and other relics

I have painted these 2 paintings after getting inspired on the beach north of Southwold in Suffolk. The sea has really eaten into the land there, several houses have been lost to the waves and i get a weird feeling whenever i am walking that beach .Several driftwood trees litter the beach .

A decade ago i metal detected the beach there ,its littered with aluminium melted blobs [from bonfires] that probably were once behind the houses . I found a Ford Fiesta Mk1 door handle in the sand,im old enough to remember that those handles often broke/failed back in the 1970s! Also found some live .303 ammo dating back to WW2 .My paintings are now for sale in my etsy shop
